Who we are
Started in 2011, Arctic Air Conditioning and Refrigeration still runs from Shed 5 at 17-19 Claud Boyd Parade in Bells Creek. The team of 11 consists of two senior technicians, a technician, an electrician, three apprentices and the office crew. You deal with the same people from quote to follow-up.
We work everywhere from Bells Creek to Maroochydore and up into the hinterland, from Pelican Waters and Kings Beach through Kawana, Buderim and Mooloolaba to Palmwoods and Eudlo. After 15 years working on the coast, we know which streets cop salt air off the beach and which hinterland homes need the heat mode in July.

Site visit and quote
For an install, a technician measures the room, checks the wall, the switchboard and where the outdoor unit can sit, then sends a written quote at no charge. For a service or repair, we book a time window and arrive with the common parts on the van.
Install or service
A back-to-back split system is normally done in half a day. Ducted takes one to two days depending on roof access. A full service on one unit runs about an hour.
Follow up
We test-run the system in both cooling and heating before we leave, show you the remote, and log the job so your next service reminder is easy. Workmanship is covered by our warranty workmanship warranty period.

Multi-head systems
One outdoor unit running two to five indoor heads. Useful in townhouses and units with nowhere to put three condensers, or where the roof space is too tight for ducting.
Ducted air conditioning
Servicing and cleaning
A proper service is more than a filter rinse. We check filter restriction, fan and evaporator coil mould, baffle mould, fan balance, drain blockage, refrigerant charge, condenser airflow and bacteria build-up, then clean and treat what needs it.
Repairs and replacements
Fault-finding on units that trip the breaker, leak water, ice up, rattle or blow warm. We quote before fitting anything. If a unit is not worth fixing, we say so and quote a replacement, including recovering the old refrigerant, which by law needs an ARC-licensed technician.

How much do residential air conditioning services cost?
We do not run flat-rate pricing. A 2.5kW bedroom split on a single-storey brick wall is a different job to a 7kW unit on a two-storey rendered house with a 12 metre pipe run. Install quotes are free and in writing.
As a rough idea: a standard service on one split system is service price per unit, with a call-out fee of call-out fee. A supplied and installed back-to-back split starts from around entry split install price. Ducted for a typical four-bedroom home runs ducted install range. Repairs are quoted after fault-finding, and you approve the figure before we fit a part.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I service my air conditioner on the Sunshine Coast?
Once a year for most homes, ideally in autumn before you switch to heat mode. The Coast’s humidity feeds mould on the indoor coil, and salt air eats the outdoor coil faster than it would inland. Within a kilometre of the beach, or if the unit runs most days, make it six-monthly. Skipped services can also give a manufacturer grounds to refuse a warranty claim.
Split system or ducted: which suits a Sunshine Coast home?
Splits win for one to three rooms, for rentals, and for older homes with no roof space. Ducted makes sense in a four-bedroom house where you want every room done and a tidy ceiling. Add iZone zoning, and you only pay to cool the rooms in use. If you are on the fence, we quote both.
How long does an air conditioner installation take?
A back-to-back split system, where the outdoor unit sits directly behind the indoor unit, is usually finished in half a day. Longer pipe runs or a second-storey install, can push it to a full day. Ducted systems take one to two days depending on roof access and outlet count.
Do you service brands you did not install?
Yes. Our residential aircon services cover all 15 brands we carry, and our technicians work on most others as well. Read us the model number from the sticker on the indoor unit when you call, and we will tell you straight away whether parts are still available for it.
What warranty do I get on a new system?
Two warranties. The manufacturer covers the unit itself, typically five years on the major brands, and Arctic covers the installation workmanship. Rust and corrosion are excluded from standard manufacturer warranties, which is why we offer anti-corrosion treatment for homes near the beach.
Do you do emergency air conditioning repairs for homes?
